How to use Naver Map in English
Naver Map is one of Korea's most popular map apps. It gives the walking, public transport and driving directions that Google Maps can't in Korea, and it works in English, Japanese and Chinese.
Open a place in Naver Map & KakaoMapSwitch the language
- Naver Map follows your phone's language. If your phone is set to English, Japanese or Chinese, the app shows that language.
- You can also change the language in the app's settings.
- Supported languages: Korean, English, Japanese and Chinese.
When you can't find a place
- Not every place has an English name in Naver Map. Search the Korean name or the Korean address instead.
- Korea Map Bridge finds the Korean name and address for you: paste a Google Maps link or type the name, then tap Naver Map to open the place directly.
Directions from where you are
In Korea Map Bridge, "Directions (Naver Map)" opens public transport directions from your current location. If the Naver Map app isn't installed, the Naver Map website opens instead.
Reviews in your language
Since October 2024, Naver Map translates visitor reviews and place filters (such as type of food) into English, Japanese and Chinese.
KakaoMap as a backup
KakaoMap is the other big map app in Korea. In Korea Map Bridge, "Directions (KakaoMap)" fills in your current location as the starting point.
